Hachiko was born in 1923 in Ōdate, Japan. In 1924, he found a home with Professor Hidesaburo Ueno. Their daily walks became a ritual. Then, in 1925, everything changed.

Ueno never came home. Hachiko did not understand the finality of goodbye. So he returned to the station. Again. And again. For years.
